5/16/2021: THIRTY-FIVE YEARS AS BUT A DAY

On 5/16/2006, Tuesday, I published "20 Years as But a Day." Today marks 15 years later. On 5/16/2006, Dad was still alive (for almost two more years). My mother-in-law was still alive (for almost eleven more years). I would not acquire my “bionics” for just under ten more years.

Mrs. Appalachian Irishman has been side-by-side with me, during all “the good, the bad, and the ugly.” We have had much joy and too much sorrow. We have enjoyed or endured it all together.

I took the above photograph of Mrs. Appalachian Irishman, on 7/17/2012 (my birthday; her birthday was the next day). I wrote one article only in 2021. It was for Dad. I wish that I had written an article about our birthdays, in 2012. (Isn't 2022 next year? Where has the time gone?)

My wife spent most of that July 2012 week with me, while I endured one of the too many “training” weeks, for my current job. I had to stay in a fancy hotel, in Johnson City, Tennessee. She still looks about the same. You are in print finally, dear!

For our 30th anniversary, on 5/16/2016, we “enjoyed” the day, as my wife wheeled me around in the wheelchair at home. Our 20th anniversary was more fun.

Today, for our 35th anniversary, we enjoyed our first dining out experience, since our anniversary last year. There has been something about a new cold virus going around, for over a year now. Since one is no longer required to wear a mask while eating at a restaurant now, we may be able to dine out more often – even with family and friends! (By the way, how did folks eat, dining out, while still wearing a mask? It's a mystery to me!)

The Fearghail clan doesn't often drop the “L”-word. It's our way. Here it comes! Ready? I LOVE YOU DEAR. (I wonder if she will read this article. I wonder if she will comment.)

5/17/2021, Monday, at 4:50 PM: Let's have some fun! In the last 24 hours, I see that 22 folks have viewed this article. I don't know who they are, except for the ones that commented to the link I did yesterday on “Farcebook.” (Thanks, y'all.) In the last 24 hours (to 4:50 PM today), I have had 231 readers, so far. Well, dear “long-suffering” wife, my 5/16/2021 website anniversary card to you garnered 9.5% of my readership, in the last 24 hours (to 4:50 PM today). Have you read my website anniversary card, of yesterday? Will you comment? Let's see what she does, y'all! She's not full of the blarney, as I am.

/18/2021, Tuesday, 5:50 PM update: at 5/18/2021, Tuesday, 5:47 PM, my “all time” readership reached 100,414. I don't know when, exactly, that I broke the 100,000 level. I appreciate your readership. As of 5:51 PM, “Mrs. Appalachian Irishman” still has no clue, apparently, that she has my 5/16/2021 article, as a website anniversary card. I wonder when she will find it!

5/23/2021, Sunday, 3:30 PM update: as of this comment, Mrs. Appalachian Irishman has either not found her 5/18/2021 “electronic anniversary card” or has found it and not told me or commented. Either way, “Lucy's got some 'splainin' to do!”

As of 6/2/2021, Tuesday, Mrs. Appalachian Irishman has either not found her 5/16/2021 not 5/18/2021, to correct my last comments)electronic anniversary card or has found it but not told me. I suspect the former. I though you read my website, dear. Not reading a man's website is grounds for -- coffee.
