Introduction
Greetings, y'all! Yesterday was election day here in “Knox County Vegas.” I voted, but the lady told me that I could come back to vote again, believe me or not.
Yesterday, I started this reference to my 5/14/2006
article before going to vote again. Finishing it today, I am
embedding an online link to me reading that timeless article. The
written and spoken article from sixteen years ago still rings true
today.
Illegal Analogy: The Article from Sixteen Years Ago
I published the article “Illegal Analogy” on 5/14/2006. It was my twelfth article. I updated the article on 6/26/2022 by adding only the introductory paragraph. As of this entry today, I have published 345 articles.
This website's analytics show viewer statistics. I do not know who views which articles. For example, I only see how many times articles are viewed in a day. For some reason, on 6/26/2022 and again on 8/2/2022, daily views of “Illegal Analogy,” the article from sixteen years ago, spiked. I don't know why that article had so many views on those days. I had almost forgotten about the article.
Illegal Analogy: Today's Podcast
Those spikes in views motivated me to create an audiovisual episode, in which I read with some adaptation the words that I wrote sixteen years ago. The episode includes an introductory note. I changed only a few words in the original article for a more natural spoken voice. Otherwise, I did not change anything else.
I hope that you enjoy listening to me while I read my 5/14/2006 article, “Illegal Analogy.” The episode is on Appalachian Irishman – Podcasts (YouTube) as ILLEGAL ANALOGY (published 8-5-2022; episode #4).
Conclusion
Well, I'd better get off here for now. That lady at the voting place from yesterday may be looking for me and wondering why I didn't come back to vote again yesterday. Also, I need to sweep the water that puddled on the front porch after another almost daily pop-up storm.
By the way, Mrs. Appalachian Irishman is home now. Yesterday, she had to start “hitting a lick” at work. Today was her second day back to work after her summer break. Bless her heart. She may have to work another three years before she can join the retirement club.
“Illegal Analogy” was my statement about the flood of illegal aliens crossing the southern border in 2006. That flood is worse now, 16 years later. Unfortunately, my analogy is timeless. When will this once-great nation remember that secure borders define a nation?
